Bed Bug Heater Rental Packages

We have bed bug heaters for rent across the Houston metro in three package sizes, rented over a standard 24-hour period or extended across multiple days. This page is here so you can work out which one fits your rooms before you call, rather than being sold the largest one.

What This Page Covers

Every package includes the same core equipment list — heater, fans, extension cords and temperature monitoring — plus delivery, pickup and hands-on training. What changes between them is heater output, fan configuration, and therefore how much space you can bring up to temperature at once.

How the Packages Actually Differ

The honest version is that all three packages do the same physics. Bed bugs die at  118°F, their eggs die at  122°F, and every package is capable of putting a room past both. The difference is how much air volume one setup can hold at temperature at the same time.

A heater raises the air. Fans are what turn hot air into a treated room — they push heat into the closet, under the bed frame, behind the headboard and into the corner the heater is pointing away from. A heater and fan combo working together is what gets the temperature probe reading the same number in the far corner as it does three feet from the equipment. That is the whole job.

So when we talk about coverage area, we are talking about how much space one setup can hold above 118°F for four to five hours without the far side of the room dragging behind. Square footage is a rough guide to that. Layout is a better one.

The Packages and the Rental Periods

Five pages sit under this hub, and they are not five versions of the same thing. Three of them are package sizes — how much space one setup can hold at temperature. Two of them are rental periods — how long the equipment stays with you. Size the package to your rooms first, then decide how many days you want it.

The Three Package Sizes

Elite 4 — the largest package, an all-in-one heater and fan setup for whole home and multi-room jobs

Pro Heat 100 — the mid package, sized for a single room and spot work

Budget Package — the entry package for a small bedroom, an apartment or a hotel room.

The Two Rental Periods

24-Hour Rental — what the standard rental period actually covers

Extended and Multi-Day Rental — two days or more for larger homes

What Changes Which Package You Need

Room Count, Not House Size

A 2,400 square foot house with three bedrooms clustered on one side is an easier job than a 1,600 square foot house with rooms at opposite ends.

Rooms in a row can share a setup as you sequence through them. Rooms split across a floor plan mean more repositioning, and repositioning costs time out of the rental window.

Power Draw and Amperage

Electrical capacity can matter more than square footage. Heat equipment draws significant current, and using two heaters on one circuit can trip the breaker mid-treatment.

The solution is usually running extension cords to separate circuits. In older Houston and Sugar Land homes, 100-amp electrical panels can also limit capacity—sometimes making a smaller heat-treatment package run twice the better option.

Clutter

Clutter is not a tidiness issue, it is a temperature issue. Boxes and bags packed against a wall or stacked on the floor stay well below lethal temperature in the middle while the room reads 135°F.

Bed bugs survive in exactly those places. A cluttered two-bedroom apartment is a harder job than an empty four-bedroom house, and no package size compensates for it.

Property Type

A single room in a hotel or motel is the most contained job there is, one door, one contained space, usually one circuit.

An apartment is similar but shares walls, and if the units either side are also affected, treating yours alone may not hold. A whole home is where sequencing and days matter most.

What a Rental Will Not Do

Heat kills what it reaches, at the moment it reaches it. Three things stop it doing that: cold spots in rooms far from the equipment, clutter against walls and floors, and wall voids — the gaps in trailer construction and some older framing that bed bugs retreat into.

And the one nobody wants to print: heat does not prevent re-infestation. It kills what is in the house on the day. If bed bugs arrived on luggage, a rideshare seat or secondhand furniture, they can arrive again the same way, and that is not a failure of the equipment.

There is no guarantee attached to any package here, and you should be careful of anyone offering you one.

Frequently Asked Questions About Renting a Bed Bug Heater

  • Which package do I need for my home?

Start with rooms, not square footage. Count the rooms that need treating, note whether they are next to each other or spread across the floor plan, and check whether you can reach outlets on separate circuits. A single room points to the Budget Package or the Pro Heat 100; three or more rooms usually points to the Elite 4 or a smaller package over an extended rental. Call with those three details and we will size it in about two minutes.
  • What comes with the rental?

Heater, fans, extension cords, a temperature probe so you can read what the room is actually doing, plus delivery, pickup and training when it arrives. Nothing on that list is billed separately. Exact contents per package — fan count, cord length, probe type and deposit — are still being confirmed.
  • Can I rent a bed bug heater from Home Depot or Lowe's instead?

A lot of people search this, so here is the straight answer: big-box rental counters stock general-purpose heating and drying equipment — construction heaters, carpet dryers, air movers — not equipment set up to hold a room at bed bug treatment temperature with monitoring. Availability varies store to store, so call your local branch rather than trusting a website. The gap is not really the heater anyway; it is that nobody at the counter delivers it, sets it up with you, or tells you where to put the fans.
  • Do I need special electrical wiring?

No. Standard household circuits run this equipment. What you do need is to spread the load — cords to outlets on different circuits or breakers, not two heaters on the same one. Tripping a breaker three hours into a run is the single most common practical problem people have, and it is completely avoidable if you check your panel before delivery day.
  • What if I need it longer than a day?

Then take the extra day. Larger homes, jobs with several rooms and anyone who would rather not run equipment overnight all do better with more time — nothing gets rushed and you do not end up cutting a run short to make a pickup window. The extended and multi-day rental is here.
