Budget Bed Bug Heat Packages
This is our entry package and the lowest bed bug heat treatment price we rent at. It is built for one contained space — a small bedroom, an apartment, a hotel room or a motel room — where the problem is confined and the job is a few hours rather than a full day.

What You’ll Find in This Guide
What the entry package is sized for, what a cheap heat treatment for bed bugs realistically buys, the specific things that make apartments and hotel rooms different from houses, and when spending a little more is the cheaper decision.
What You Are Actually Paying For
The temperatures do not get cheaper. Every package we rent — this one included — is capable of taking a contained space past 118°Ffor adults and nymphs and past 122°F, the temperature that kills bed bug eggs. What you give up at this end of the range is coverage, not capability.
Lower heater output and a smaller fan configuration mean less air volume held at temperature at the same time. In a 10 by 12 bedroom with the door closed, that is not a limitation you will notice. In a room open to a hallway, or two rooms you were hoping to do together, it is.
The run is the same four to five hoursat temperature, for the same reason it is on every other package: the mattress core and the box spring frame warm slower than the air, and you are waiting on them. Cheaper equipment does not shorten that. Nothing shortens that.
People searching for an affordable bed bug heat treatment are usually comparing this against a professional quote in the
$1,000 to $3,000range for a Houston home. That is the real comparison, and it is a large gap. See our
complete bed bug heat treatment cost breakdown for detailed pricing information.
What Varies
Apartments and Hotel Rooms in Particular
Shared Walls
An apartment is a contained space with one important exception: the walls it shares. If the units either side of you are also affected, heat in your apartment kills what is in your apartment and nothing else, and re-entry through shared voids and conduit is a real possibility. That is not a reason to skip treating. It is a reason to tell your building management, because a single unit treated in a building with a wider problem rarely holds on its own.
Permission
Check your lease and check with management before running heat equipment in a rental apartment or a hotel room. Some buildings require notice; some have policies about equipment draw. This takes one phone call and it is much easier before delivery day than after.
Hotel & Motel Rooms
These are the most contained jobs there are — one door, one window, one small volume of air, and usually far less clutter than a home. The complication is access and timing rather than heat, so confirm the room is yours for the whole block of time before the equipment arrives.
The Furniture, Not the Floor Area
A small room packed with storage under the bed and boxes in the closet is a harder job than a larger, emptier one. Clear the floor and the walls. It costs nothing and it does more for the result than the next package up.
Power Draw in Older Complexes
Apartment circuits are frequently shared across more of the home than they are in a house, and older Houston complexes are often on modest panels. The power requirement here is the lowest of any package we rent, which is precisely why it suits apartments — but the same rule applies. Extension cords to outlets on
separate circuits, and do not share a breaker with the kitchen.

Honest Limits
This package treats one space at a time. If you have evidence in more than one room, this is the wrong choice — treating one room while an adjoining one is untreated tends to move the problem rather than end it, and you will end up renting twice. Two rentals cost more than one correctly sized rental.
The three failure modes apply here as everywhere:
cold spots in areas the heat does not reach,
clutter against walls and floors that never gets to lethal temperature in the middle, and
wall voids in some construction. And
heat does not prevent re-infestation — in an apartment building or a hotel, that is worth saying twice. There is no guarantee with this package or any other.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Budget Package
What size space does this package cover?
One contained room, a single bedroom, a standard apartment bedroom, or a hotel or motel room. Frame it by the space rather than a square footage figure, because a closed door does more for coverage than floor area does, and in older apartment buildings electrical capacity often decides it before size does.
How many rooms can I treat at once with it?
One. You can sequence a second small room inside the same rental window if you start early, allowing four to five hours at temperature plus setup and cooling for each, but this package is not intended to run two spaces simultaneously. If you know you have two or more rooms with evidence, size up rather than sequencing a package that is working at its limit.
What is included in this package?
Heater, fan, extension cords and a temperature probe, with delivery, hands-on setup and pickup included in the rental. You get the same delivery and training as the largest package, the equipment is smaller, the service around it is not.
Is this enough for my situation, or do I need the bigger one?
If it is one bedroom, one apartment or one hotel room and you can close the door, this covers it. Step up to the Pro Heat 100 if the room is large, opens onto a hallway, or you want margin. Step up to the Elite 4 if you have three or more rooms. The cheapest package stops being the cheapest the moment it does not fit the job.
What does this package cost and what is the deposit?
Call for today's rate, and ask about the deposit, the delivery limits by distance and the extra-day rate in the same conversation.
